Where Art and Wellbeing Meet
15th July 2025
Over the years, I’ve been fortunate to work at the intersection of art and wellbeing, facilitating community-based creative projects that invite reflection, connection, and personal expression.
These projects have taken many forms: group workshops, expressive journaling programs, collaborative murals, and small exhibitions of participant work. While the settings vary, hospitals, neighbourhood centres, community festivals, the intention is often the same: to create space for people to slow down, connect, and explore ideas through making.
My clinical and creative work have always developed alongside one another. Rather than sitting in separate boxes, they quietly inform each other. Both require presence, deep listening, and a respect for process whether in a conversation, a sketchbook, or a shared workshop space.
In this work, art isn’t about outcomes or aesthetics. It’s about the process, showing up to the page or canvas with openness and curiosity. Whether people are drawing for the first time or reconnecting with a long-lost creative voice, the impact is often the same: a shift in energy, a moment of clarity, or a sense of being seen.
You can view a small snapshot of these projects on my art website here and if you'd like to learn more or start a conversation, I'd love to hear from you.
